How to make your Golf Swing Unbeatable

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf club putters.

The swinging motion is used about 99% of the time while you play golf. When you think about it, swinging is not that hard to do. But mastering the correct golf swing is far more complicated than it looks. You can read any golf book and the advice they give you is to keep your drive off the inside of your front foot’s heel.

Most of the time you should keep that in mind but sometimes it is important to look at the positioning of your golf ball. Make sure you make a note of it the next time you take a swing. You should hit the golf ball on the upswing. Generally woods have a very low angle to the clubface so they need some lift during the impact.

The best way to improve this is by having someone watch your swing while facing you and try to pinpoint where your swing bottoms out and try to position the ball just after that point. You can also try to video tape yourself to see where your week point is. So here are the steps to follow to perfect your golf swing:

1. It is important to turn your body around to the right and then back and around to the left, without moving either way. So, in other words you have to turn from a fixed pivot.

2. It is also important to keep you arms at full stretch through out the swing (back swing, the down swing, and the follow through.)

3. Try to keep your wrists fully back at the top of your golf swing.

4. Try to delay the time when you actually hit the ball until as late in the swing as possible.

5. Make sure you are relaxed when your take your golf swing. If you tighten up your muscles above your waist, then you will mess up your shot.

6. The golf swing should be considered as a whole swing not just different parts of it. Relax and concentrate on your whole golf swing.

There you go, follow these steps and you can impress your friends in no time. Just keep in mind the last step. Your golf swing should look like one move rather than different moves.

Now you know all the steps that will make your golf swing unbeatable. Head over to my blog to get more tips to improve your golfing skills.

Do You Have the Guts to Use a Belly Putter?

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf club putters.

“What’s up with belly putter” Everyone’s been asking this quesion since Sergio Garcia miraculously improved his putting stroke at last year’s British Open and TPC.

To put it briefly, belly putters are designed to help golfers better control their putting arc by reducing their range of motion. This is accomplished by increasing the length and thickness of the club when compared to other putters. While it is only recommended for short putting, it has quickly become a fad amongst players hoping to improve their scores.

Belly putters are the most sensitive of all golf clubs to fitting for correct length. Some people often make fun at the extra long yip-sticks saying things like “Belly putters are for lost and desperate souls. Since belly putters are longer and generally have a thicker grip than conventional putters, they inhibit feel and feedback.

For those who complained: If Long/Belly putters are so advantageous, why not get one and prove it by winning some big majors. Statistically, the experts say that belly putters are better than the traditional putters. However, this needs to be proven and what better way then the ultimate putting test at August for the Masters. If Sergio or another Belly-maven can slip on the green jacket while using the Belly-stick, it could change everyones mind

Belly putters are associated with older players, but Sergio Garcia’s putting has cost him so much that he’s using one. Men who use belly putters are basically announcing to the world that they have the yips and are desperately searching for a cure Sometimes, there is no cure, Just ask some of the best ball strikers on the mini-tours who never quite made it because of their putting I for one say, if it helps you, go for it.

Another weapon in the golfer’s arsenal, belly putters come in fixed lengths ranging from 100 cm to 115 cm. If you step over to our putting section, you’ll see many manufacturers of the infamous yip-stick.

Golf Guru Guy will be there to review all the best belly putters out there for the long yip-stick inclined. Stay tuned as the season draws closer.

I happen to be one of the ones that thinks they’re for old guys with bad backs, but we shall see…

To Hybrid or Not to Hybrid??? That is the Question

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount hybrid golf clubs.

No, no manufacturer has made an electric golf club that does the driving for you… yet. Hybrids in the golf realm are all the rage amongst pros and regular players alike, as they are much easier to use compared to the true iron. They are a cross between a wood and an iron, and the experts recommend it for the average golfer seeking to improve his performance.

So what exactly does a Hybrid do??? Hybrid golf clubs are made with a lower center of gravity. The club lofts vary from 16 to mid 20 degrees like the long irons. Hybrids are even useful for bump and run chips and tricky shots against the collars of the green. Hybrids are generally numbered by their degree of loft. They are easier to hit than the long irons so they make life easier for those golfers who do not have the hours to practice like the pros or are adept at hitting the long irons. Hybrid golf clubs are sometimes called utility clubs. That is why it is important to realize that when making a purchase of a hybrid golf club that the lofts are not directly comparable to the club you are replacing. Other Factors to consider: The length of shafts in hybrid golf clubs are either longer for the club that replaces an iron or shorter for hybrid golf clubs that replace a fairway wood. Giving the ball a higher spin rate hybrid golf clubs allow it to stop faster with more accuracy. Hitting a ball out of tough location such as a lie in the rough is another helpful design aspect of hybrid golf clubs. So, because Hybrids are easier to hit with less practice, putting Hybrids in your bag= more fun playing golf.

Golf Guru Guy has tries all of the top manufacturers hybrids. Callaway, Taylor Made, Nike, Ping, Adams and the rest all have their own versions of Hybrids that all have their pros and cons. In my opinion, the Taylor Made and Callaway were the easiest to hit and I was able to get these up from tough lies and hit em high which allowed GGG to nail the green and keep it there. I recommend those two highly, but the Adams Hybrids were also the first ones really to market the Hybrid extensively so GGG gives their Hybrids Props as well

Hybrids are a must for any average golfer looking to improve their score and play more like an expert. They’re a hot item both in sales and internet discussions, so at least some research is warranted. Golf Guru Guy has done a lot of ior you, and if you step over to the Golf Super Sites section of the site, you’ll see the manufacturers and websites that have great hybrids and offer great deals. Get one, and get to swinging like the pros!

The Eye of the Tiger

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf club titanium drivers.

Remember the theme song from the Rocky movie, “The Eye of the Tiger”?

When Rocky fought his opponent he had the focus of ‘the eye of the tiger’. When that song was written they couldn’t have had any idea the significance it would take on when a new Tiger took the world stage and changed sports forever.

I don’t care if you are a golf fan or a sports fan or if you think there is too much hype over this one particular athlete-yes golfers are athletes.

Tiger Woods is a force to be reckoned with. I could write a book about not only his accomplishments in the sports world, but also his accomplishments as a human being, but many books have already been written. In fact I wrote about Tiger in my book, “Breakthrough to Success.”

Look at what Tiger does in terms of how you live your life. Could you stand up to the level of excellence that Tiger requires of himself? If you raised your expectations, do you think you would be performing head and shoulders above your competition?

I’ve always been a huge fan of his because not only is he a consummate professional, he has such intense focus that you can see it on his face when you watch him on TV. I have also had the pleasure of standing just a few feet from him on more than one occasion and watching that focus in person.

Over and over again I heard the announcers at the tournament talking about how nobody would believe this if it was a movie. It would just be too much of a fantasy and the whoever wrote a screenplay that played out like this would be laughed out of a movie mogul’s office. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a movie or a sporting event with this many interesting characters and twists and turns.

Tiger is larger than life and his life is richer, more nuanced, and more interesting than any movie script. And this weekend he was Rocky, but he wasn’t fighting an opponent, he was doing what his dad had taught him. He was playing full out because that’s the only way to do it.

There were so many amazing shots from this one tournament. You can probably find them all on Youtube. But it’s not about the shots. It’s about the measure of the man. During the tournament some of his fellow golfers, who should feel really ashamed of themselves right now, wondered out loud through their pettiness and jealousy how hurt Tiger really was.

Tiger on the other hand downplayed his injury to not take the focus off the Open while he played through incredible pain that would have made almost any other player call it quits, especially when he was so far back that it didn’t look like he had any chance at all of winning.

And yet, Tiger not only didn’t quit, he forced a playoff and played another 19 holes on Monday. And then he made the impossible inevitable by winning…again!

Watching him play in the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines for 4 days instead of the usual 3 was a treat and at the same time painful. My heart ached every time I saw him wince when he hit the ball or when his caddy pulled him up by the arm when he couldn’t get up by himself or when the pain of taking another stroke had him almost doubled over in pain.

And I wondered how he could keep going, where did he find the inner strength to focus enough to pull it out day after day?

Ironically during the tournament there was a commercial running with audio of his dad talking about how Tiger would never meet anyone else as mentally tough as him in his entire life.

He certainly proved his dad right that weekend. I’m sorry I won’t be seeing him play the rest of the summer, but I know he’ll be back next year better than ever because striving for excellence is just his natural way of being.

The question is, is it yours?

Best Golf Course With Natural Hazards

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf club iron sets.

All those who play golf are very sensitive to their golf course. Normally a golf course must have 18 holes with teeing ground, rough and other hazards, fairway along with a green that has a pin and cup all necessary for the game of golf.

Some golf courses have only 9 holes and there golf is played two times per round while there are golf courses with 27 or 36 holes where players choose their two groups of 9 holes either because of uniqueness or due to maintenance cause sometimes.

Golfers always want to experience the best golf course around given the oppurtunity to do so. Golf courses will invariably have many different types of hazards to make the experience more interesting and challenging whether they are natural, man made or lake and river water hazards.

Touchet Valley Golf Course is of the best golf course in my opinion, which was originally built on a dairy farm and is quite old as it was built in 1910. It is one of the best places to play pasture golf links style.

When it comes to buying golf accessories there are lots of name of the companies that manufacture good ones. Cobra golf is a well-known manufacture of golf equipment and has sponsorship deals with various excursion professionals. The quality of the equipments is excellent.

Located in Carlsbad, California, and considered one of the oldest golf companies, Cobra has a great range of quality drivers, irons, utilities, and putters. The former number one golfer in the world, Greg Norman, had a landmark relationship with Cobra Golf.

Yet another popular name in the manufacturers of golf equipments is Cleveland Golf, which is an American company, situated in Huntington Beach, California. Cleveland golf can be viewed back for producing classic golf clubs since 1940s. It also has good relationships with famous players and sponsorship of best golf course.

However there were many changes in the name of the owners but right now it produces full range of golf clubs and is flourishing. Golf courses are designed by special architects and they become celebrities in their own field and they are in great demand too. One thing that is not so good about golf courses is that is not eco-friendly.
