Information on how to take your golf game to a higher level abound all over the place and you have no doubt seen the adverts. You might have even taken the next step and bought those golf balls that promise you 30 yards more distance or the latest driver that powers drives straight down the fairway. So, are you in fact getting those extra yards and accuracy?

It is time to stop believing all the myths that you hear from those big companies and their advertising campaigns. A perfect golf game is not just about having a great golf swing or buying the most expensive golf equipment.

Yes, there are certain golf swing guides that can help you with your swing and there are a few golf training aids that can fix an annoying swing fault. I have written, reviewed and recommended a few of these products on my blog. But there is a missing ingredient that you need to know about – the mental game of golf.

Firstly though, in order to dismiss the myths that you can buy a great golf game, let us have a look at the facts:

In the mid-70′s, 25% of golfers could break 90 and only a quarter of them could score in the 70′s. Today, thirty years later we now have titanium drivers, graphite shafts, variable weighted heads, cavity backed irons, and 4-piece golf balls. With these advances, a total of 28% of golfers can break 90 – wow!

So after spending billions of dollars on new technology and advertising, the golf equipment business should be happy to know that the number of all golfers that have broken 90 has been increased by a massive 3%! Those billions don’t include the huge investment made in the golf training aid or golf instruction industries.

So what is the missing ingredient that can promote the quickest and most lasting change in any golfer’s game? The mental game of golf or the inner game of golf is the key to improvement. Interestingly, this is the only area that doesn’t cost a penny to use, however hardly anyone uses it.

The mental game is using your brain in a calculated, focused and methodical manner and is the surest method to golf improvement and lower scores. It is in fact a large subject and to understand the mental game of golf you need to gain knowledge of things like:

-Gaining confidence in yourself and your game

-How to use your imagination to win

-How to control your attention

-Curing golf nerves and anxiety

-Curing golf nerves and anxiety

-Developing clear focus and mental toughness

-Developing clear focus and mental toughness

Hopefully you will now understand the importance of using the mental game of golf and start using it in your game. Accepting and using the inner game of golf techniques is what differentiates the top 5% of golfers from the rest of us. The top golfers know about and use powerful goal setting processes, advanced visualization techniques that improve every area of their game, mental imagery processes, and how to enter the “Zone.”

There is no doubt that golf is an intricate game and so there are many areas that you need to perfect and work on. The first thing you need to use is the right (not the most expensive) golf equipment for your game. You can then practice and improve your golf swing technique, and maybe work on your golf fitness training. But if you truly want to take your golf game to the next level and break 90 or even 70, you need to master the mental game of golf.

Golf Club Covers: It’s just Weird

Friday, October 31st, 2008

When someone refers to golf club covers they are referring to the sock like covers put on the longer golf clubs known as woods. However the notion of golf club covers can also extend to the rest of the bag of clubs as the idea of iron covers is also becoming quite popular. The golf club covers do a lot for your golf club. They protect your club in the rain and damp weather. If you lay your bag down in freshly cut grass the golf club covers will make sure the grass doesn’t cover your clubs.

The golf club covers also protect your clubs from each other as golf clubs can become damaged by banging around into each other while in your bag. It used to be that golf club covers were very basic items that looked like socks and had on them the number of the club that was being covered. A very expensive set of golf club covers would look not unlike a very basic set and they usually served the same purpose. After a while golfers started to express their personality through their golf club covers and whole new industry was born.

It has been going on for a while now. Your big burly friend from work would put a gorilla golf club cover on his driver because he felt that he projected a lot of power with his driver. Sometimes the covers would come in sets of what looked like puppets and they would have entire families of covers to use on clubs that would express a little personality in an otherwise solemn game. Then, not too long ago, someone came along that changed everything and caused a boom in the sales of covers all over the world. That person was Tiger Woods.

Tiger and His Boy Frank

Tiger Woods burst onto the golf scene as an amateur and a golfer had not been so anticipated since Jack Nicklaus. It did not take long for people to start to notice that the golf club cover covering Tiger’s driver was a tiger. Soon the sales of tiger driver covers took off and people all over the world were sporting their Tiger Woods’ driver cover and adding a bit of color and fun to the exploits on the golf course. Then we learned that the cover had a name and could talk.

Tiger Woods’ driver cover is named Frank and thanks to a series of television commercials a couple of years ago everyone got to watch Frank talk and give Tiger advice. It was all in good fun and the result was a thriving industry that has grown up around creating new golf club covers and maybe even finding the next Frank.

Golf Travel Cases: How Do You Decide Which One To Buy

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf accessories.

If you’re a golfer who travels with their clubs then a golf travel case is a must for you. Protecting your clubs with the right golf travel case is important.

Golf travel bags last a long time. So if you make the wrong choice you’ll probably be carrying it around for many years. Too big a case means extra weight. Too small means no space for shoes, hat or an extra set of clothes. Golf travel bags come in a variety of colors, sizes and styles to suit every personality. Whether you’re a basic black person or want more color in your life there’s a color and style for you.

Your travel dictates the type of golf travel case you need. For airline travelers the hard sided golf case is probably the one for you.

Baggage handling and shuttles mean more tossing and jostling of your golf clubs. Baggage handlers are rushing to unload and load the plane quickly. This means your clubs get thrown and tossed more than ever.

Soft Sided Golf Bag or Hard Golf Case?

The outside layer of the hard golf travel case with the padding protects your clubs from the world of baggage handlers.

But if you’re a golfer who travels mainly by car, then the soft golf travel case will probably be your bag of choice. With its waterproof exterior and interior padding, your clubs are protected as they ride in the trunk of the car or on the luggage cart to your hotel room.

You’ll find space to store your soft golf travel bag under the bed or in a closet. The hard golf travel case is a little more of a challenge. The hard cases won’t fit under a bed and take up a lot of space in a closet.

When you decide whether you’re a car or airline traveler you’ll have the information to make the choice for the best golf travel case for your needs. If you plan ahead you can even find a case where you can pack your shoes, hat and clothes. Then it’s just a matter of changing your clothes, grabbing those clubs and heading to the course.

Online shopping is an easy way to find a variety of golf travel bags. No matter your choice, hard golf travel case or soft golf travel bag you’ll find one to match your needs and protect your clubs.

Travel and golf are a fantastic combination. Enjoy your travel as you discover new courses. Don’t forget to protect your investment in your clubs with a golf travel case.

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and Adams Golf Clubs.

Yes buddy trust me this other brand granted little known is an up and comer that will almost certainly knock off the big players because of their exhaustive investment in research. adams golf a2 enjoy plenty of marketshare through quality and ingenious product improvement design initiatives. Exacting professional games command high performance equipment to garner full potential for the players and it is here that they have stepped up to the plate.

adams golf a2 manufacture requires an extensive knowlege of design human factors and a commitment to excellence. Continual product innovation has clearly resulted from considerable investment to maintain their products at the forefront of the market. For me it is extremely important not to be buying inferior goods as it is very unplesant trying to extricate yourself from that position.

Considerable variety and ingenuity is a hallmark of the brand that is known as Taylormade golf. Taylormade golf produce a range of high quality products for golfers of all abilities. The manufacturing methods generally means that Irons fairway woods wedges hybrids and putters are generally cast.

Since the release there has been a significant uptake for adams golf a2. I might just have to keep this one to myself at least until I take my buddies money next saturday. A hell of a lot of thought has gone into producing these gems and they perform sensationally.

A really solid feel due to a lower weight distribution for the 3

How To Choose The Perfect Golf Gift

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Presented by GolfClubsHome.com and discount golf gifts.

As a golfer, I know what type of golf gifts I would like to receive. If you have to choose a gift for a golfer, would you know what to buy for them? Once you start looking for gift ideas you may be overwhelmed by the amount of options available. So to help you out, I have prepared my top 4 ideas for great golf gifts.

Practical Golf Gifts

Normally, the safest golf gifts that you can buy are practical ones. Things like golf balls are a good bet. If you can find out which type and brand of golf ball the golfer uses then you could buy a box of the same ones or perhaps buy them more expensive golf balls. Make sure you know the golf ball specifications the golfer likes – high spin, distance, soft feel, etc.

A different idea for choosing practical golf gifts is to buy brand name replacement head-covers. If the golfer uses Adams golf clubs, for example, and the head-covers are scuffed and worn or mismatched, then you could buy some Adams replacement head-covers.

A Personalized Golf Gift

As an unique golf gift you can’t beat personalized golf gifts. There are several options of personalized golf equipment or accessories. Probably the most popular are personalized golf balls, where you can have up to three lines of text imprinted on the golf balls of your choice.

Some more golf accessories that can be personalized are embroidered golf shirts, golf towels, and golf caps. You can also find personalized golf bags with two lines of customizable text from the likes of Nike and Callaway Golf.

A Golf Memorabilia Gift

If you are looking for an unusual golf gift then you can’t go wrong with golf memorabilia. You will want to make sure that the item is certified and authentic golf memorabilia. Look for a guarantee and that every autographed product comes with a certificate of authenticity (COA). You will surely find that unusual golf gift you were looking for and something that any golfer would be pleased to receive.

Exclusive Corporate Golf Gifts

Most business persons that own their company and are also golfers have probably made some business on the golf course. Or, maybe you work for a company that needs to supply corporate golf gifts for clients. In either case, your best option is to order some custom logo golf gifts. Custom logo golf products are a fantastic way to endorse your company. Again, the most popular are custom logo golf balls which can even be ordered with their own custom logo packaging.

These are my top 4 golf & gifts ideas – there are others which you can check out below. With these ideas, you should be able to find the ideal golf gift – whether it is for a loved one, a friend, or a business associate.
