Golf Course Day
How did things go when you last played on a golf course? Often we hear golfers profess that a bad day on a golf course is better than a good day at the office. Not many regular golfers would disagree with that well-known sentence.
Regardless of our age, intelligence or sex, each of us has the same goal. We want to leave a golf course with a feeling of accomplishment. Setting a new personal record hardly is necessary.
We would like to escape from our concerns at home and at the office. While playing a round of golf we get to spend some time devoting ourselves to a great game.
Golf tournaments pit players against one another. When playing a round of golf, you want to do more than just beat your opponents. While concentrating on their own games, few golfers pay that much attention to how the other players are playing. It is more important to get the golf swing right.
Golfers compete against the golf course they are playing, not just the additonal golfers. Golfers do not total their scores until after they have finished playing. After you have finished you may have a friendly discussion about how you will beat each other the next game.
Many people have stated that the best way to measure a person’s worth is to put a person on a golf course. It is on the golf course that you will be tested for discipline and integrity. The way that a golfer will face challenging situations and make difficult decisions shows a lot. People around you are going to be observing how you conduct yourself.
Each golf course is unique, and there can be quite a bit of difference when you look at the type of grass and length alone. This may not be a matter of concern if you happen to have the same golf swing Tiger has.
It commonly is thought that the private golf courses and country clubs are the ones that provide the best playing conditions. Some of the public golf courses have playing facilities that are better than private courses. Some public golf courses surpass some of the exclusive playing fields.
It takes much more than a name to establish a good reputation for a well-known golf course. An owner or operator of any golf course has the power to create a positive or negative environment.
An unpopular course owner is not going to be a big problem because you will not see that person during your playing time. From that time on, golfers are alone on the golf course, meandering through the acreage and lost in their own competition.
Continuing to play the same golf course over and over again stunts your improvement. In order truly to become a better golfer, it will pay for you to visit different golf courses. You will learn how to play different angles and views in unfamiliar territories.
