Teeing off has to be the most crucial shot of the day, it dictates how easy it is for you in the approach shot or some cases hit the green or the hole. It is at times frustrating for people who lack experience in the game. I ask myself this question! “What can I help do to fix this problem? Well this is your lucky day!. Here I am going to share with you some simple strategies to help improve your consistency in your driving.

At the beginning check your stance. Make sure to keep at a decent distance from the tee and ball . You should have your feet spread about shoulder width apart, this will give you a solid foundation to leverage your body for your drive.

Secondly, loosen up on your swing. Make sure to grip the club lightly. Believe it or not you are able to leverage your body to whip out your shot. Believe me when I say this that many golfers assume that tensing up and showing all muscle is going to create greater distance with your drives. This is not true. It is technique and timing and a bit of power that fuses together to create that power swing.

 

Make sure that during your downswing not to come over the top of the ball, it can cause you to slice. This is created when you use too much upper body in the downswing instead of driving your weight from right to left or left to right if you are left handed. Using your core to rotate your hips slightly you will drive the ball at a greater distance.

Keep it simple and don’t complicate things too much, implementing the basic fundamentals will give you an edge.
