Soon you will be watching internet tv in every room

Internet TV and the standard tv are set to collide and are due to change the way we view and how we see television shows. Currently competition in the sectors of web access and Cable television are literally non existent. The content providers provide the so called high-speed connections do not want customers to cancel their subscriptions and start watching tv on the internet. But it is already happening and users are doing just that. In their droves.

internet connections to the web is the cable companies most profitable business. Their technology is also more advanced than the phone and mobile companies.

In other countries like the far east. Internet speeds are much higher than in the USA. Here companies are worried about giving us the maximum speeds because then internet tv will be even more popular. Currently most subscribers view a tiny fraction of the available channels they are paying for.

All of us want to choose which channels we pay for, and a bigger variety as can be seen with online tv would be welcome too. With the new internet TV websites like worldtvpc, Hulu and YouTube the variety and choice is much bigger than on traditional tv. And amazingly most streams are free of charge. The video on Demand content is low priced from $1 for each show. Therefore if you watch tv online, your only paying for what you want to watch or get it for free.

To try and keep subscribers whilst stopping the rise of internet TV. Cable companies are keeping the broadband speeds slow (compared to other parts of the world) and even charging you per megabyte downloaded!

The problem is that internet tv is still marching on. It seems that every day a new internet tv company appears, and brings with it technology to make viewing even easier and the choice even greater.

The manufacturers of television hardware including LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony are releasing new digital HD TVs that have Ethernet sockets as standard. Making them ready for immediate internet connection and with built in browsers full access to the video and TV websites.

The Games console companies have also jumped on the internet television bandwagon. Microsoft with the Xbox 360 which has direct access to websites like Netflix for video on demand. You can also rent movies and TV on PS3. Youtube can be viewed on Nintendo.

Other manufacturers are queing up to get internet enabled. Companies including Roku, Apple, TiVo plus Vudu all want to be the top dog in internet enabled hardware.

Soon watching the internet for tv will be as common as checking your watch for the time. And most of the world will in some way or another be watching content that is streamed from the net and the cable companies cannot do a thing about it.
